EMS Network International is an affiliate of the ForeSight Network based in Sweden. Of the many ForeSight Programs available, ForeSight Intrapreneurship is the best known. It is a systematic program designed to identify, harness and empower highly motivated people to implement either their or the company's ideas in a manner that is generally outside the company's normal operating procedures and functions. These Intrapreneurs may use any conventional resources they choose. More typically, however, they simply act as free-market entrepreneurs and find whatever critical path to success makes sense, bypassing the "company way" of doing things if such can be done prudently.

Corporate entrepreneurship is not a substitute for more conventional ways of starting new businesses and launching new products. Conventional structures and procedures come into play once the intrapreneurial idea gets to a point where significant resources and a team of people and cross-functional skills are required.

An intrepreneurship program can be considered "feedstock" to other new business development processes and groups. It is a microcosm or "pilot plant" of the entire process, from idea to sale in the marketplace. And, as with any pilot plant operation, eventually the process must be scaled up for the business to become significant.
